Layers

Guiliano Fujiwara 2010 Fall/Winter collection definately my favourite collection so far... Layers of quality constructed garments, leathers, heavy knits and tailored garments made a supremely strong collection. The high tops sneakers look pretty interesting too, remind me of Rick Owens with the oversized detailed tongues. check out the video below:

Apple Ipad unveiled

Its looks cool but what does it really do? Its presented as an extroadinary piece of technology better than a Laptop or Smart Phone does it do all the things they do? The answer is NO!
I'd love to have one for web browsing and using your fingers to manipulate the page would be pretty fun but your still restricted to the basic functioning of the Internet. It doesn't change the way the Internet works, but just lets you browse it.
Some people say its just a super-sized IPhone but it can't make phone calls. It doesn't even have a camera and its not like your gonna put it in your pocket as an MP3 Player.

It just seems un-original and flawed to me. Its an expensive gadget that doesn't really do anything an IPhone or Ipod Touch can't do.
I'm looking forward to using one and hopefully be proven wrong. Playing games and using Apps could be good and I like to have one to use as an eReader.

21st Century Mods

This awesome scooter was spotted in Shibuya, Tokyo. Its awesome how western trends are adapted by the Japanese into something unique.

Japanese Fukubukuro - Sale, Sale, Sale

These pictures were taken in either Shibuya or Harajuku on the morning of January 2, 2010 - during the peak of Tokyo's New Year's sales & Fukubukuro shopping frenzy.

Harajuku's Gap Store No More

All the Gap signs have been moved from the building. Very strange to see that busy corner go vacant. The new Gap is across from Harajuku Station, but this is the one that most people will think of first when you say "Gap Harajuku". Nothing stays the same.

Harajuku & Shibuya New Year’s Day 2010 Sales & Lucky Bags

New Year’s Day is a day when many – maybe most – of us think of sleeping in to recover from the hard partying that we did the night before. But, in Tokyo, it’s also a big shopping day. Some shops and department stores close on the first and re-open on the second, but the stores that do open on the first day of the year are usually packed.
Probably the most famous New Year’s Day shopping spot for fashionable young Japanese girls (and a few guys too) is LaForet Harajuku. In fact, when we were stumbling home after our New Year’s Eve parties – around 6am in the morning of New Year’s Day – there were already girls lining up outside of LaForet so that they could be the first into the department store when it opened (opening time was still hours away). That’s dedication!

Most of the shops on Takeshita Dori are also open on the first day of the year in Japan. The shops that do open for New Year’s Day usually have the famous Japanese fukubukuro on sale – attracting large crowds of excited shoppers. Fukubukuro (also known as Lucky Bags, Mystery Bags, Happy Bags, or Fun-Word-Here Bags) are fixed-price bags that you buy from a shop without knowing what’s inside. The attraction is that you can get a huge value for your money. If the bag costs 10,000 yen (US$110), it might have 50,000 yen (US$535) worth of goodies inside. It’s a way for shoppers to get much more from their favorite shops and brands than they can get at any other time of the year. The downside is that you don’t know what’s in the bag, so you might be getting some of last-year’s fashion or something that doesn’t fit or something strange that will shock you.

Cassette Playa in Tokyo

These two guys were walking on Meiji Dori between Harajuku and Shibuya. Check out the amazing hat and necklace the guy on the left is wearing!  The tshirt he's wearing is by Carri Mundane's - Cassette Playa.

I've been loving the energy of Cassette Playa ever since I saw her first collection in London and have been following her escalating career ever since.

Interviewer: "How was your most recent Tokyo experience? Any funny stories you can
tell me? Did you sign lots of autographs? Did anybody ask you what
your blood type was?"

Carri Mundane: "HAHA KINDA I DID SIGN A FEW AUTOGRAPHS LOL N HAD ONE GUY + GIRL RUN DWN THE STREET AFTER ME TO GET A PICTURE.AND WHEN I WALKED IN ONE SHOP THE GUYS EYE BALLS NEARLY POPPED OUT! WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF THEY D STARTED BLEEDING. I WISH I HAD THAT KIND OF SUPERHERO POWER..WALK IN ROOMS AND MAKE WALLS BEND AND SHIT.. ONE DAY :)
I LOVE TOKYO!!! ITS TOTALLY HOME TO ME.. IT’S SO NOISY (IN EVERYWAY..SONICALLY N VISUALLY) BUT THERES A HARMONY ITS TOTALLY FUTURE..
I FIND A KIND OF PEACE IN ALL THAT NOISE..

I ❤ Shibuya

Shibuya has achieved great popularity among young people in the last 30 years. There are several famous fashion department stores in Shibuya. The contemporary fashion scene in Shibuya extends northward from Shibuya Station to Harajuku, where youth culture reigns; Omotesandō, the zelkova tree- and fashion brand-lined street; and Sendagaya, Tokyo's apparel design district.

Ukulele Kid

This kid is awesome! He's playing Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" on his Ukulele but has no idea of the words. I love his timing when he takes time to scratch his nose.
